Questions.
If you require more information or have any questions about this privacy policy,  please feel free to contact us by email at privacy@sionit.com.auÂ
At Parnassus, we consider the privacy of our visitors to be extremely important. This privacy policy document describes, albeit in somewhat mind-numbing detail, the types of personal information that are collected and recorded by Parnassus and how the data is used.
Log Files.
Like many other Web sites, Parnassus makes use of log files. These files merely log information about the activities of visitors to the site – usually a standard procedure for hosting companies and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. This information is used to analyse trends, administer the site,  track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses, and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.
Registered User Data
From time to time we will create “subscriber accounts” in our Users database. The information contained in these records will initially be limited to:
- A user name (nickname or handle)
- A security password
- The individuals full name and title
- location or address information such as house number, street, suburb, city and post code.
- a randomly generated login password
- an e-mail address (for correspondence)
This data will be collated from public information sources such as (but not limited to) other public websites (WordPress, Facebook, Linked In), web or paper based public company directories (contact pages), web or paper-based telephone directories (White Pages, Yellow Pages, e-address-books, correspondence on the WWW) and so on.
The constructed “Profile” will be used to build a custom invitation to be delivered by e-mail. The express purpose of the e-mail will be to invite the individual to subscribe or interact with Parnassus  as a secure, registered user or member on the Site.
Should the Subscriber accept the registration invitation from us by return email and/or by logging into Parnassus, Â we will assume that consent has been given for the Profile to be used from time to time, in a reasonable fashion, to promote the Parnassus site.
At no time will a Subscriber’s Profile be released deliberately or knowingly by us to a third-party except as may happen as a result of normal data traffic that occurs on the world-wide web. Such activities may be, (but are not limited to), Â error reporting from software modules, normal e-mail traffic, and similar administrative, Â diagnostic and statistical functions
Once our initial invitation has been accepted and the acceptance confirmed by an exchange of e-mail and logging in, Â the Subscriber will have the opportunity to change their password as well as add to, edit, update, Â or link-to their own data.
Non Subscribers cannot comment on site posts or other material. Â If the Subscriber has left comments on our pages, we will, on request, supply them with an exported text format file containing all of the personal data we hold about them.
the subscriber can also request that we erase their personal data in its entirety. This does not however include data that we might be obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
At no time will  information captured by us from occasional visitors to Parnassus or the information in a subscribers Profile be on-sold by us for profit.
Advertising
At this time, Parnassus has neither paid nor unpaid advertising content included in the site except for those materials that may be displayed from time to time by Word Press itself,  Goggle, and the manufacturers of Word Press plugin Modules.
Cookies and Web Beacons
Parnassus uses cookies to store information about visitors’ preferences, to record user-specific information on which pages the site visitor accesses or visits, and to personalize or customize web page content based upon visitors’ browser type or other information that the visitor sends via their browser.
Disabling Cookies
If you wish to disable cookies, you may do so through your individual browser options. More detailed information about cookie management by specific web browsers can be found at the browsers’ respective websites.
Subscriber Comments
When registered visitors leave comments on our site we collect the data shown in the comments form,  the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string. This data is used in the process of spam detection. Parnassus is a gated Blog site. We are protected by Akismet Spam Protection.  Their Privacy Policy can be found here.
An “anonymised string” created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided by us to the Gravatar service to capture your visual “Avatar”. After approval of your comment,  your “Avatar”  (image and information) will be visible to the public in the context of your comment. We have no control over the information that the Gravatar service might hold on our visitors, both registered and non-registered.  A full description of Gravatar’s information privacy policy and the functionality of “Avatars” is available here.
If you leave a comment on our site, we retain the comment and its metadata indefinitely. Â This is to allow us to recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. IP addresses are not stored with your comments and similarly, this data is available to you on request.
Photo Graphics and Video Data
If your Profile provides options for the loading of images into our Media Libraries, Â you are advised to avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included.
Any visitor to the Parnassus can download and extract any location data from images in our Libraries. Â Accordingly, Â we cannot be held accountable for the security, misuse or mis-transmission of such data.
Children’s Information
On Parnassus, we believe it is important to provide added protection for children online. We encourage parents and guardians to spend time with their children to observe, take part in and/or watch and guide their online activity. Parnassus does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian believes that Parnassus has in its database the personally identifiable information of a child under the age of 13, please contact us immediately via privacy@sionit.com.au and we will make our best effort to promptly remove such information from our site.
Online Privacy Policy Only
This privacy policy applies only to online activities and is valid for visitors to the website and about information shared and/or collected there. This policy does not apply to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.
Your Consent
By using our Website, you thereby affirm that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy and consent to its terms.
